THIS IS A STUNNING VINTAGE 1959 GENTS OVERSIZE (35mm) ROLEX "METROPOLITAN" CHRONOMETER WRISTWATCH IN 14K YELLOW GOLD.
DESCRIPTION.
This is a fantastic example of the Rolex Metropolitan made in the 1959. This rare Rolex model has such charm and elegance. The stunning oversized 14k 35mm case and is in very good condition with light age related wear. It has Straight Lugs with an engine turned bezel and is in 14k solid yellow gold. This is the model Reference 4325. The cream dial has black Arabic numerals with a large yellow gold pencil hands. It still retains its Rolex crown logo on the outer case back.
This is a wonderful example of a 1950s Rolex.
The super high grade 18 rubies chronometer movement is has been fully serviced by our watchmaker.
To complete this fantastic piece, we've put it on a new high quality Hirsch lizard strap.
CASE.
The 14k solid yellow gold case is in very good condition with very light age related wear. The case measures 35mm across, without the winding crown and 43mm long. Inside the case back all the marks are correct as expected: Rolex, Geneva Swiss and fully hallmarked for 14k (0.585) solid gold and also numbered with the reference model number 4325.
DIAL.
The original dial has been restored to the highest possible standard and looks simply stunning. The cream dial has black Arabic numerals with yellow gold pencil hands. It oozes that 1950s style and elegance.
The dial is signed: Rolex, Chronometer, Swiss Made.
MOVEMENT.
The super high grade 18 Rubies Chronometer movement is in very good condition and has been fully serviced.
The movement is signed: Rolex Chronometer, 18 Rubies, Swiss Made and fully numbered with its Chronometer number.
STRAP.
To finish this beautiful watch off, it comes on a new, high quality Hirsch lizard strap.
THE BOX & PAPERS.
Like most vintage wristwatches what are over 70 years old, the original certificate and box has been lost or discarded over the years. But even though this watch does not have its original box or certificate, this watch, the reference numbers, markings, signatures and hallmarks are all correct, dating the watch to the 1959.
