Here is a mismatched 19th century antique Minton enamelled tea cup and saucer. The cup has a decorated band with hand painted strawberries and white roses with dots of enamel with gilt foliage within a gilt band on a purple ground. The cup has a loop handle with gilt decoration. The saucer has enamelled pink roses within a hand painted purple ribbon pattern with smaller enamelled pink roses to the outside gilt band. The saucer is impressed to base with Minton. Year cypher for 1866. Pattern Number to the cup No 5020.
Measures:
Saucer: 13.3 cms diameter
Cup: 6.7 cms high and 7.5 cms diameter excluding handle
Condition: The cup and saucer do not match but are both by Minton. There are some (approx 10) small scratches (images 9,10 and 11). The saucer has some giltware to the rim edge and the inner dentil gilt rim (see photos 6,7 and 8). Miss glaze to the underside rim of the saucer. Otherwise both cup and saucer are in good condition. No chips, cracks or restoration.
