KPM Berlin Hand Painted Blue & Gold Floral Scrollwork Empire Form Cup C. 1820-40

Very pretty porcelain empire form chocolate cup. Decorated with hand painted blue floral scrollwork designs over a white background. Gold on the bottom. With gold gilding along the inside of the cup at the top and to the outside of the handle. There is a saying framed in gold gilt scrollwork on the front, in German script that I cannot make out. Has an underglaze blue scepter mark on the bottom. The mark is typically believed to be KPM Berlin, though it is not found in any reference book. Circa 1820 to 1840.

Has a lot of wear to the gilding, especially at the bottom of the cup, and a small in manufacture firing separation next to where the handle is attached, but no chips or cracks.

Measures approximately 4 1/8 inches wide x 4 inches tall.

This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece.
