"Explanation about Flora Danica"
The pattern name "Flora Danica", which is touted as a timeless masterpiece as the world's most luxurious dinner set, was created in 1885 at the beginning of its founding. It was a dinner set made by Prince Frederik to present to Catherine the Great, the Russian empress who had a close relationship with Denmark at that time, and it was a spectacular project to draw 2600 plants on tableware from "Flora Danica Botanical Encyclopedia".
Over the course of 12 years, the painter Bayer faithfully continued to draw Danish flowers on each tableware from the pictorial book, but Catherine II passed away before the work was completed, and this project was interrupted. More than 1802 originals by Bayer are preserved in Rosenborg Castle, and this pattern of tableware is still used as tableware for the official Danish banquet Flora Danica has one piece for two painters. (One draws a plant motif and the other draws gold), so the signatures of the two will be printed.
