THIS IS A STUNNING GENTS VINTAGE 1951 ROLEX OVERSIZE PRECISION WRISTWATCH IN 9ct SOLID GOLD.
DESCRIPTION.
This is stunning example of the Rolex Precision made in 1951. This is a very desirable model because of the large 36mm oversize case. Back in the 1940s/50s and the average gents size of this type of Rolex watch was around 30mm-33mm, due to the fashion for a smaller more elegant wristwatch. The 9ct solid yellow gold 36mm case is in very good condition with very light age related wear. The stunning original dial has been painstakingly restored to the highest possible standard and simply looks gorgeous. The dial has flat black arabic numerals with blue steel dauphine hands. This is a wonderful example of a 9ct gold Rolex Precision.
The 17 jewels movement has been fully serviced by our watchmaker.
To complete this fantastic piece, we've put it on a new high quality leather strap.
CASE.
The 9ct solid yellow gold case is in very good condition The oversize size case measures 36mm across without the winding crown and 43mm long including the lugs.
Inside the case back all the marks are correct as expected: ‘Dennison made in England’ ‘Ald’. Also, numbered 13874/409157 and fully hallmarked 9.375 for 9ct solid gold.
DIAL.
The stunning original dial has been restored to the highest possible standard and simply looks gorgeous. It has raised gold Arabic numerals with and gold dagger hands. It oozes 1950s charm and elegance.
The dial is signed: ‘Rolex’, ‘Shock-Resisting’, ‘Swiss Made’.
MOVEMENT.
The high grade 15 Rubies movement is in very good condition and has been fully serviced. The movement is signed: Rolex, Swiss Made, 15 Rubies.
STRAP.
To finish this beautiful watch off, it comes on a new, high quality leather strap.
THE BOX AND PAPERS.
Like most vintage wristwatches what are over 30 years old the original certificate and box has been lost or discarded over the years. But even though this watch does not have its original box or certificate. This watch, the reference numbers, markings, signatures and hallmarks are all correct, dating the watch to circa 1951.
